Li Po ( about 701-762) was born in Sezchaun, China. While still a boy he retired to the mountains to live with a religious recluse by the name of Tunyen-tzu. Li Po later left the mountains to get married, and from then on he became a wondering poet. He had a remarkable imagination and the main subjects of his poetry are nature, friendship, solitude, wine and the passage of time. Li Po traveled extensively throughout his life and he married three times. He is recognized as one of the greatest of Tang poets.
