Edward Estlin Cummings

E.E.Cummings was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on October 14, 1894 and died on September 3, 1962. He is one of the most widely read poets of the United States. He attended Harvard University, from which he received a B.A. degree in 1915, and a Master's degree for Enghlish and Classical Studies in 1916. Cummings was a poet, a painter, an essayist, author and playwright. His works includes 2,900 poems, two autobiographical novels, four plays ans several essays, as well as numerous drawings and paintings. Cummings poetry deals with themes of love and nature and he liked to incorporate imaginary and death into much of his poetry. The seeds of his unconventional style apear in his earliest work, his first poem when he was only three years old:
"Oh little birdie oh oh oh
with your toe, toe toe"
